I was just proposed to so I don't have many details,but I have a a huge family so the guest list will be about 200. Is it even possible to have something for 10,000 these days and still classy?
Hi Nicole
Thanks for getting in touch for ideas for a cheap and of course classy wedding in Toronto.
Toronto is an expensive city when you are looking for room hire and your numbers mean that you will need a big place! However saying that it is still possible to find places that will fit your numbers.
To keep your costs down you may want to think about looking at different catering options rather than a full sit down meal.
You could think about a cocktail and canapes reception in a modern warehouse/brewery type venue.
Some options that would fit your numbers are;
Rosehill - Unusual venue where you can have your ceremony and the reception, they can hold your numbers. Looks very cool!
Brickworks - Historic venue! I imagine your wedding photos would be stunning here and you could get married outside.
Steamwhistle Brewery - wasn't sure how you would feel about having your reception here but they have got a great space for functions. For an outside wedding ceremony Balfour Park is close by.
Or if you are looking at a summer wedding you could have your wedding in one of the many parks around Toronto. Full details are here. There are quite a few to choose from and they would provide a great backdrop for photos.
Park weddings are great if you want a more relaxed wedding where maybe you serve a picnic or have an afternoon tea. It would definately be fun!
Another option is the Rectory Cafe on Ward's Island, they do the catering in-house and there have been some great reviews of their food. The prices are very reasonable.
Hope that helps get you started finding your perfect venue.
Best of luck with all of your wedding plans.
