I am getting married in October of 2010 and I have no clue where to start planning? I don't really know how much we have to spend because I don't know how much anything cost. My mom won't tell me how much she is going to help so My fiance and I have taken it upon ourselves... I am wanting to have about 50 people... probably less. I am having fall colors and 2 bridesmaids and groomsmen. We are getting married outside at a friends house. PLEASE HELP! We don't want to go over 2,000 dollars if at all possible. But I want it to be nice and elegant. I already have my dress so that is out of the way!
Hi Christy
A good place to start is to write down all of your wedding necessities - licence, ceremony cost, wedding rings. Then write down all of those other bits that you would like. Invitations, entertainment, food and drink, wedding cake, photographer etc
Here is a free printable wedding planner for you to use to make sure you don't forget anything.
You will need to put at least $1000 a side for your reception, have a look at cheap wedding reception ideas to work out ways to spend less but still have a classy wedding.
It is completely possible to have your wedding for $2000 or less, you will need to do a lot of the wedding stuff yourself - making invitations, decorations and call in lots of help.
Good luck with your plans
